If something or someone exists, someone, somewhere is bound to hate it, no matter how much you love it. Hate is inevitable, whether you like it or not. It's simply a fact of life.
Protip: if someone hates something you like or love, deal with it. Raging excessively about it will most likely not change their opinion, or they'll end up hating it (and/or you) even more because of your exaggerated reaction.

I don't understand why people aren't as "receptive", so to speak, to anything as it used to be.
Until this decade, if you liked something, 95% of the time, at least most people around you would concur in some way.
However, the whole anonymity of the Internet has not only marginalized everyone so that only (realistically speaking) small groups
of people have genuine interest in something, it's also made people wwwaaayyy too passionate about popular culture in relation to themselves.
But the point is, people aren't as receptive as, say, during the Cold War and therefore are more hostile to anything that even slightly
differs from what they like and/or know. Hatred has sadly become a LOT more commonplace because of the anonymity of the Internet.
